Simple Tips To Deal Poker

In every game of poker, there are certain unwritten rules that should be followed in order to maintain the integrity of the game. These unspoken guidelines are what separate poker from other gambling games and make it the unique and interesting game that it is. If you are new to poker, or are looking to brush up on your skills, here is a guide on how to deal poker like a pro.

The first thing to do is make sure that everyone is seated comfortably and has enough chips in front of them. It is also a good idea to have a dealer button to designate who the dealer is for that particular hand. Once everyone is set, the dealer will then shuffle the deck of cards and pass them out clockwise, dealing one card at a time face down.

After all players have received their hole cards, the betting will begin. The player to the left of the dealer will start and the betting will continue clockwise around the table. Once the betting has been completed, the dealer will then burn a card (this means to discard the top card of the deck face down) and then flip over the next three cards in the middle of the table. These are called the flop.

Players will then use these communal cards in combination with their own hole cards to make the best 5 card hand possible. The betting will start again with the player to the left of the dealer and continue around the table as before. After the betting has completed, the dealer will burn another card and flip over one more card, this is called the turn.

Players will again use these cards to make the best 5 card hand possible. The betting will proceed as normal. The last card dealt will be the river and again, players will use these cards to make the best 5 card hand possible. The betting will conclude and the player with the best hand will win the pot.
